Forward onto Gentoo

Wed Oct 21, 2009, 12:41 PM
Making the jump tonight to Gentoo. I've chosen Compiz operating standalone (On top of X obviously) as my WM,
MPD of course for music, probably going with Pulseaudio,
Mostly decided on mplayer for video.
URXVT for terminal.
Using vim or gvim for text editing.
Currently looking at what I want for the rest of my suite.

Taking Suggestions on: (Gtk based only)
Image Viewers,
Widgets,
Compiz Extras,
Taskbars,
Trays,
File Managers,
Office Suites,
Web Browsers,
Anything I missed.

Leme know your favs!

Thinking...

Tue Mar 3, 2009, 9:41 AM
So. Story is coming along slowly. I've reworked it roughly 8 times. :-P

Kind of debating on how to go about it.

--I'd really like to release and develop the world under a creative commons non-commercial license-ish, and allow for copyrighted stories using the world. BUT this could potentially (Read: Will) Hamper any later efforts of getting it published or produced. So I will probably wait and see what happens.

--I'm trying to decide just how detailed in character interaction I want to get... Should I just follow the story of a main character, or do like an ensemble cast each with their own intricate histories and attitudes towards each other. The latter would be much harder, but probably lead to a richer, more diverse cast... and also would work better for the TV show Genre that I'm working towards. The former would let me learn easier...

-- Lots of other things. :)

THIS, JUST IN....

Not everyone celebrates Christmas lalalala.

Happy Hanukkah,
Wonderful Kwanza,
and.. *sigh*
Merry stinking Christmas.

Christmas in it's current Western-Culture form disgusts me, I hope, out there, somewhere, someone is truly celebrating the holiday how it was meant to be celebrated.

A fun article you may all find me a grouch to put up and all that, but take a look.

Enjoy your holidays whatever they may be, but most of all, enjoy the time with family and friends, for they matter far more then any gift you may receive.
